Choosing between braces and aligners
- Metal braces: The most economical and the most predictable for complex movements. Modern brackets are far smaller than the ones you remember.
- Ceramic braces: Tooth-coloured brackets that are much less noticeable in photographs, at a moderate premium over metal.
- Clear aligners: A series of removable transparent trays. Almost invisible and removed for meals — and entirely dependent on you wearing them 20 to 22 hours a day.
What treatment involves
We begin with photographs, X-rays and a scan or impression of your bite. From these we map out exactly how the teeth will move and roughly how long it will take — usually somewhere between 9 and 24 months.
You will visit every four to six weeks for adjustments. Each visit is short, and we will show you your progress against your starting photographs.
Retainers matter as much as the braces
Teeth have a memory and will drift back if left alone. Everyone finishes treatment with retainers, and wearing them as instructed is what protects the result you paid for.
